1. I'm not one of those who believe love is a fluffy bunny subject. Love is a form of madness, a dangerous madness. It can bring elation, and it can bring despair and suicide (Romeo and Juliet, anyone?). Perfectly rational and successful men and women have thrown away everything through love (and not lived happily ever after).
So why do we still want it? The question's an open one. For me, it is because love makes you feel alive (not, please note, because it makes you feel happy 24/7). When you are with your soul mate, you feel complete. Even the pain is as much a part of love as the pleasure.
[...and after all...] I'm sure that, if I could turn the clock back, I would still put myself through it all again, even if the tragic end is inevitable. He is part of me. How could I not?
